We started in San Luis Obispo, California. A few of us drove down from San Francisco, and Lincoln from up from Southern California where he flew into. We bar hopped in SLO and stayed in a nice hostel in town. The next day we drove up the coast through Big Sur.

We drove by a popular campground overlooking the ocean that I was hoping we’d be able to stay at, but it was full. So we continued northeast to find a campground on the way to Yosemite. We happened to arrive at a motor speedway that had plenty of car camping.
Lincoln finished sleeping in the truck.
We watched some motorcycle racing practice around 10am, and saw one rider crash.
Because why not?
We finally made it to the greatest national park in the country. Now we just need to find a campsite.
I couldn’t fall asleep so I spent some time photographing the stars and landscape for a couple of hours.
After one night in Yosemite, we were ready to go check out Lake Tahoe. We drove through the park and north, through part of Nevada, in order to arrive at South Lake Tahoe.
After roughing it for two nights we were ready for some creature comforts. We opted for an excellent hostel in South Lake Tahoe - the Mellow Mountain Hostel.
Once we arrived in San Francisco, we went on an urban hike through several neighborhoods, and worked up quite an appetite.
From the top of my hill - Telegraph Hill.
Before driving out of Lake Tahoe, we got some group shots on the beach.
We then drove to Lagunitas Brewing Company in Petaluma, CA, and ate their delicious fare.
In the end we drove about 1,100 miles. If we had more time, I would have loved to go further north to the redwoods. That will have to be for another adventure.
